While we are still working on the documentary film about our Mission to Marsh expedition, our founder Ann Christin Kornelsen has already published the German short story “In the Realm of the Jaguar” (German: Im Reich des Jaguars”) for which she was directly nominated for the biggest German-language prize for young writers.
Her book is a testimony to the importance of wilderness in our modern world and an urgent appeal to preserve the splendor and diversity of nature. In the jungle of Costa Rica, Ann Christin Kornelsen sets off in search of a jaguar and herself.
The book was published by Story. One Publishing, an initiative of the bookstore Thalia, and a reading evening is even planned in one of the branches in Hanover. We are delighted that the response to the book has been very positive. It motivates us to work on our mission and invest all our energy in wetland protection. With this book, Anni provides a first insight into our scientific expedition, which leads from the north of Canada in a four-wheel drive vehicle with a roof tent to the south of Patagonia. We had many adventures, learned a lot and collected stories that show that wetland protection is important and works.
The story of the Cano Negro wetlands in Costa Rica was only a small part of our nine-month adventure. On our website we will regularly share smaller stories of our mission so that we can take you with us on the adventure of wetland protection.
