Who We Are and Why We Do This

Mission to Marsh is a German NGO that believes in life on Earth. To that end, we protect and restore wetlands.

That’s because peatlands are true climate superheroes: Although they cover only 3% of the world’s land area, they store twice as much carbon as all the world’s forests combined! As gigantic water reservoirs, they cool entire landscapes and provide a safe haven for endangered animal and plant species. To inspire people worldwide to care about these ecosystems, we’re already working with strong partners like Patagonia, Entega, and Tomorrow.

Be part of the mission: Suggest your moors to us!

We’re kicking off the launch today with the most beautiful moors in Lower Saxony. But our goal is global—and to achieve it, we need the power of this community.

Which bog in your region is still missing from our map? Where is there a nature trail or hiking trail that the world absolutely has to see? Help us discover places we haven’t found yet!
