Mission to Marsh on Tour

MtM Home Photo Shoot, July 10, 2025

When we’re on the road with Mission to Marsh, we rarely do it from behind a desk. Over the past few months, our expedition van has become our temporary home, our command center, and our faithful companion. As a family, we travel from place to place, give talks, host screenings of our documentary, and park for the night where adventure awaits: right on the edge of the wilderness.

After all, there’s nothing more important to our work than experiencing the moor for ourselves with all our senses. We need to feel the damp ground, hear the silence, and see the colors in order to pass on this very enthusiasm to others. That’s exactly why we launched our new platform, discovery.missiontomarsh.org.

But we quickly realized: We can’t do this on our own. The world of the moors is vast—and that’s why we need you.

Your Mission: Document the adventure right on your doorstep

We want Mission to Marsh Discovery to become a global, collaborative movement. We want to start a team dedicated to micro-adventures. You can actively participate in our mission and join us in documenting, photographing, and describing marshes for the platform.

We’re looking for like-minded people who’d like to get involved:

  • Photographers: Do you know exactly how to capture that magical morning mist, the glistening sundew, or the perfect sunset over the wooden walkways? We need your eyes!
  • Writers: Do you love taking leisurely strolls, slowing down, and putting the feeling of freedom in the fresh air into words? Write adventure stories for us about the moors in your region!
  • Bog Experts & Guides: Do you know your local bog nature trail like the back of your hand, know where the frogs croak the loudest, and where the best picnic tables are? Share your knowledge with our community!

Invite us: Where’s our next adventure waiting for us?

No matter where in the world you are—if there’s a bog near you that’s open to visitors (whether via a hiking trail, a wooden boardwalk, or an educational trail) and that absolutely belongs on our platform: Invite us!

We want to stop by in our expedition van, hear your stories, take a stroll with you, and show you just how many incredible micro-adventures are waiting right on your doorstep.

Stay tuned: The next big expedition is in the works

While protecting the moors right on our doorstep is our mission, we’re also currently planning our next overseas adventure. We’re checking the routes, sorting out the kids’ rubber boots, and getting the expedition van ready to go again.

We can’t reveal exactly where we’re going just yet. But one thing is certain: It’s going to be wild, it’s going to be wet, it’s going to be a huge family adventure, and we’ll be bringing back lots of new, fascinating bogs for our Discovery platform.

Now it’s your turn

Do you know of a marsh that we absolutely should visit on our next trip? Or would you like to join our crew as a photographer, writer, or expert and help document your local marshes?
