Patagonia Mission to Marsh Berlin

Peatland conservation has finally made headlines. Unfortunately, the news has been bad ever since the fire in the Hohes Venn peatland. Since our mission is to raise awareness about peatland conservation, we have several events lined up for you.

1st Film Event at the Patagonia Store in Berlin

We’re bringing our adventures and the fascination of the marshes to the capital, to a location that’s especially close to our hearts! On Thursday, September 3, at 7:00 p.m., we’ll be screening our film *Mission to Marsh* at the Patagonia Store in Berlin.

You can look forward to an evening full of honest insights, visually stunning storytelling, and a space for meaningful conversations with the community. We’ll take you along on our expeditions and show you why the fight for the wetlands is so inspiring.

2. Field trip to the new bog project in the Spreewald

The very next day, we’re moving from the screen to the real world! On Friday, September 4, we’ll take you along on-site: We’ll tour our new peatland project in the picturesque Spreewald—and you can be right there with us.

We’ll take a group tour of the grounds, explain the scientific background to you, share our thoughts, and, of course, have plenty of time for your questions and great photos in the great outdoors.

  • Start: Friday, September 4, 2026, 1:00 p.m.
  • Meeting place: Lübbenau (we’ll send you the exact details after you register)
  • Exclusive Guided Tour: We won’t be traveling alone! Joining us will be two experts from our local partner as well as at least one ranger from the biosphere reserve, who will share their in-depth insider knowledge with us.

The Moor for the MOORATHON 2026

This excursion to the Spreewald is something very special to us. That’s because this is the very project area that we’ll be restoring thanks to the kilometers you run in the MOORATHON 2026!

Our main goal: We want to restore up to 100,000 square meters of this marsh and transform it into a thriving oasis.

Where do we stand right now? The interim results are fantastic—we’ve already covered nearly 42,000 square meters! But that also means we all need to really pick up the pace again before the grand finale on September 13.

3. Final at Venner Moor

On September 13, the MOORATHON 2026 finale will take place at Venner Moor near Osnabrück. Just like two years ago, we want to experience the magic of the moors up close with you. The finale will take place on September 13, 2026, at the hiking parking lot of Gasthof Beinker at the Venner Moor near Osnabrück. At 11:00 a.m., we’ll start with a trail run along the paths through the Venner Moor.

Afterward, at 2:00 p.m., there will be an exploratory walk through the beautiful moorland. Our founders, Anni and Alex, will lead the walk and share their knowledge of the Venner Moor with you.
