We need to move away from dry theory and into real-life experiences. To that end, we protect and restore wetlands. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s because peatlands are true climate superheroes: Although they cover only <strong>3%<\/strong> of the world\u2019s land area, they store <strong>twice as much carbon<\/strong> as all the world\u2019s forests combined! As gigantic water reservoirs, they cool entire landscapes and provide a safe haven for endangered animal and plant species.
